The 2015 Moto G Android smart phone... An impressive and affordable phone

H/T: Adicto Al Androide

The third in the Motorola's Moto G series is one of the best android smartphones in market you can think of owning right now. The IPX7-certified device which was released in July 2015 fulfils Motorola's promise of producing a very efficient and reliable smartphone at an affordable price.

The 2015 Moto G will give you a Galaxy S6 performance while costing about one-third of the price, according to its manufacturer.

IPX7 certified means that Moto G can survive being in one meter deep water for 30 minutes. Remarkable. Wished my previous phone was IPX7 certified too, falling into water would not have cut its life short.

Battery life: guardigi.com had earlier speculated that the phone will have an all-day battery life. That was an under estimation as the Moto G's Lithium-ion 2470mAh battery gives you 1276 minutes of talk time, about 610 minutes of web surfing (browsing) and 671 minutes of video playback.

Camera: The 2015 Moto G is equipped with a 13 megapixel, high definition (4K), autofocus, face detecting rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The camera can take panorama shots and has auto-HDR feature. Motorola says the smartphone's camera sensor is an improved version of that of Google Nexus 6. Nexus 6 costs almost 4 times more, by the way. Did I hear you say selfies and photographs just got better?

Durability:  Moto G's high water resistance (remember it is IPX7-certified) and it Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen assures you of a long lasting phone. You won't be seeing scratches and marks on the phone and its screen that soon. I just love rugged phones.

Performance: Do you think performance will be an issue for a device that runs on Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410? It has a 1GB or 2GB RAM depending on which one you opt for.

Internal storage: One version has 8GB while the other has 16GB internal storage. A micro SD slot that can take up to 32GB memory card.

Display: This is one of its killer features. Moto G boasts of a 5-inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours. The fully HD display has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Can you imagine playing a movie on this device?

Price: The phone is not currently available in Nigeria as it was just released this month. But you can guess the price since it will cost about one-third of Galaxy S6.

What's more?

  • Moto G comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. You'll be one of the first users of Android M as the phone runs using a close to unskinned version of android.
  • The 155grams phone has a dimension of 142.1 x 72.4 x 11.6 mm.
  • Optional dual SIM.
  • FM radio, Wi-Fi enabled and has Bluetooth (4.0, A2DP, LE)

I hope this phone will be available in Nigeria pretty soon. When it does, I will let you know where to get it. If you can't afford to wait, you can order a black Moto G and have it shipped.
The white colour is also available, if that's your preferred colour.
